Reading: A Visit to the Hospital

Last Sunday, Emily’s grandmother fell and hurt her leg while gardening. She was in a lot of pain and couldn’t walk, so Emily’s family decided to take her to the hospital for medical attention.

At the hospital, they were greeted by friendly nurses who helped them check in. Emily’s grandmother was taken to the emergency room, where the doctor examined her leg and ordered some tests to determine the extent of the injury.

While they waited for the test results, Emily and her family sat in the waiting area, feeling anxious but hopeful that her grandmother would be okay. They passed the time by reading magazines and chatting quietly.

After what seemed like hours, the doctor returned with the test results. Fortunately, Emily’s grandmother hadn’t broken any bones, but she did have a bad sprain. The doctor prescribed some pain medication and instructed her to rest at home for a few days.

Relieved that it wasn’t anything more serious, Sarah’s family thanked the doctor and nurses for their care. They helped her grandmother into the car and drove her home, where she could recuperate in comfort.
