Every summer, Nick and his family would go on a camping trip to a national park. This year, they decided to visit a new park in the mountains. Nick was excited because he loved hiking, fishing, and sleeping in a tent under the stars.
When they arrived, they set up their campsite by a large lake. Nick and his sister, Cloe, helped their parents put up the tent and gather firewood. Once the camp was ready, they took a walk along the lake. The water was so clear that they could see fish swimming below. Nick wanted to go fishing right away, but his father said they would fish the next morning.
That night, they sat around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and telling stories. Nick loved listening to his father’s stories about the stars and the animals that lived in the forest. As they looked up at the sky, Nick saw more stars than he had ever seen before. The Milky Way stretched across the sky, and he felt small but peaceful.
The next morning, Nick woke up early, ready to fish. He and his father took the boat out onto the lake. It was quiet and calm, with only the sound of birds in the trees. After waiting patiently, Nick felt a tug on his fishing line. He pulled hard and managed to catch a big fish! His father helped him reel it in, and they decided to cook the fish for dinner that night.
The rest of the trip was filled with more adventures. They hiked up a mountain trail, where they saw deer and a waterfall. Emma found a beautiful rock that she kept as a souvenir. On the last night, they made one last campfire and watched the moon rise over the mountains. Nick didn’t want the trip to end, but he knew they would be back next summer.
